Bloodhound Mk 2 112 Sqn

The Bristol Bloodhound was a Surface to Air Missile (SAM) of the Cold War era. It was designed to cope with Soviet bombers at long range, and the Bloodhound System was an integral part of UKADGE (UK Air Defence Ground Environment)

The Bloodhound Mk 2 could accelerate to Mach 2.5 in a few seconds with it's four solid fuel boost motors, then continue to the target under ramjet power.

A built-in radar receiver dish ensured the missile would track whatever target was illuminated by the ground radar, and 4 selectable Modes took care of jamming.

The Bloodhound was operated by Great Britain (Mk1 and Mk2) Australia (Mk1) Singapore (Mk2) Sweden (Mk1 and Mk2) and Switzerland (Mk2)
