Description
The de Havilland Canada DHC-2 Beaver is a STOL utility aircraft that first went in to service in 1948. It has a crew of one and can carry six passengers.
The DHC-2 was widely used by armies and air forces around the world except in it’s native Canada where the DHC-3 Otter was preferred.
The Beaver has seen action with the British Army on the Irish border in 1979, and with the Armée de l’air in Vietnam.
This example is a U-6A of the US Navy 1974.

Very nice rendering of an extraordinary aircraft.
My Dad's squadron (VX-6) had one of these in the mix of their equipment on Antarctica during the mid-sixties.
Done up in high visibility orange with a smattering of polished aluminum.
Had tethered skis on the undercarriage for operating in deeper snow.
Google: Koloc Point, USAARP, Operation Deep Freeze, VX-6
Also see the license plate I posted in the 'scraps' section of my gallery.
Thank you so much for sharing your very thorough and beautifully detailed work.
