The McDonnel-Douglas (Boeing) F-15C Eagle entered service in 1979. It is a large Air Superiority Fighter desinged to replace the F-4 Phantom. It is capable of Mach 2.5, and can climb vertically thanks to a thrust-to-weight ratio of greater than 1:1. The Eagle is in service with the USAF, Israeli Air Force, the Japanese Self Defence Force, and the Royal Saudi Air Force.

The F-15C is armed with 1 x 20mm Vulcan cannon, and 4 x AIM-7 Sparrow or AIM-120 medium-range missiles, and 4 x AIM-9 Sidewinder short-range missiles.

This example is an F-15C of the 60th Fighter Squadron USAF circa 1993.
