Description

The Focke-Wulf 189 entered service in 1941. It was primarily used by the Luftwaffe, and the Air Forces of Bulgaria, Hungary, and Slovakia.

The design was a twin-boom, twin-engined reconnaissance and army cooperation aircraft. It had a crew of three and combined slow speed manoeuvrability with excellent visibility.

It was armed with 2 x 7.92mm machine guns in the wings and one or two 7.92mm machine guns for defence.

This example is a Fw 189 A-1 of the Bulgarian Air Force circa 1944.

The tail gunner's machine gun is drawn as if he would have to fire through the glass of his cockpit.
