Description

The Avro Lincoln entered service with the RAF in 1945 as the larger and faster replacement for the Lancaster.  It saw combat in Malaya in 1950, Kenya in 1953, and Argentina in 1951 and 1955.

The Lincoln was the last piston-engined bomber used by the RAF, and was replaced by Valiants, Victors and Vulcans as soon as the new jet bombers became available.

The Lincoln was armed with 4 x 12.7 mm machine guns in 2 turrets, with 20mm cannon in the top turret and 14,000 lb of bombs as standard.

This example is a Lincoln I of the Argentine Air Force 1955.
