Description

The Supermarine Spitfire entered service in WW2 and became one of the best known and iconic aircraft of the time.  In total there were 24 marks of Spitfire produced, and many 'sub variants' within those versions.

It was used by almost every Allied Air Force and continued in service well after the war with countries such as Burma, Denmark, Egypt, and Israel.

Various wing types were introduced from the Mk 5 onwards including a 'universal' C wing which could have different gun fittings ranging from 8 x 7.7mm machine guns to 4 x 20mm cannon.

This example is a Spitfire Mk 21 of 41 Squadron RAF 1946.
