Anastasia by WS-Clave Anastasia by WS-Clave
The Anastasia is a space/atmosphere capable ship presented to Dan Dare as a reward by the Venusians for bringing peace to their planet.

The Anastasia incorporates four methods of propulsion including magnetic, and was designed by Sondar to include the best of Treen and Theron technology.

Dan Dare and his co-pilot Digby flew many interplanetary missions in the Anastasia, including trips to Venus, Mars, Mercury and Saturn.

Dan Dare appeared in the Eagle comic from 1950 to 1969. The Eagle was revived in 1982 but with limited success.

You're very welcome. The Eagle was my favourite comic of that era and never really got replaced with anything worthwhile...

Shame isn't it?

Apart from the fact that EAGLE was the best comic of all time, the yanks get everything, including good comics whenever one of theirs ends.

So, umm, own design eh? Nice, but despite all the details, it also a bit plain IMO...
From my point of view, if there's one thing to be learned from vectorising WWII aircraft, it is that curves are pretty. Or at the very least, it's what most sports cars, fighter planes and women have in common ^_^

Not my design, but from the 50's comic the Eagle: [link]

Just a bit of nostalgia for me really...

Ah, like so...
The hull looks a bit more curvaceous in these example shots, but I can also get that the side view isn't as special as the rest is ^_^

Yeah, I want to get into some 'newer' stuff as well: Stingray, Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet etc.

Ah ah, my fault, I thought that you were a serious guy doing only War planes :) didn't even tryed to have a look to your Gallery to find Sci-fi profile!
But I have just realised that Tie Fighters are not very good for profile drawing...

Ah, you are very correct there - I looked at doing one, then thought 'Hmm, a black hexagon maybe not all that interesting'...

I had a drawing of this in a book of Eagle comic cut-aways when I was younger! L Ashwell Wood is probably one of the reasons I stuck at trying to draw for so long!

The Eagle was one of the greatest - Dan Dare, Heros the Spartan, Luck of the Legion etc. as well as the factual stuff and the great cutaways, I loved it!
