Description

The Focke-Wulf 190 entered service with the Luftwaffe in 1941. It was a fast and versatile fighter and was unusual in that it had an 18 cylinder radial engine. The BMW 139 was prone to overheating in the early versions, but the problem was solved by the time full production began.

The 190 A4 was in use with many units, and served in a variety of theatres of war in several roles. It was armed with 2 x 7.92mm machine guns and 4 x 20mm cannon. Various combinations of rockets, bombs, cameras and fuel tanks could be fitted, and some guns would be removed in these versions.

This example is a Fw-190-A4 of 6/JG2, circa 1943.

If I'm not mistaken, this unique camo belonged to ace named Albin Wolf.
